SOFTWARE ENGINEERING GLOBAL INTERACTION LAB

Nowshin Nawar Arony is a Masters student at the University of Victoria. Her research interest corresponds to software engineering in society with a particular focus on diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. She is currently working on INSPIRE: STEM for Social Impact, a program envisioned by Dr. Daniela Damian, that aims to increase the participation of underrepresented groups in STEM through experiential learning. She aims to identify the impact of problem-solving techniques like Design Thinking integrated with other technological solutions on underrepresented groups through empirical studies of their application to community-based sustainability problems. She is passionate about creating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive community and workforce in Science and Engineering that ensures the future of STEM reflects a diversity of intersectional backgrounds.
