I am a graduate research assistant in the department of computer science, working under the supervision of Dr. Daniela Damian. I graduated from London Metropolitan University with First Class Honors in 2018. In 2017, I co-founded Kathmandu Codes with two other partners as a CTO, aiming to cater to local businesses and non-governmental organizations. In 2021, I completed an online Master’s degree in Project Management from Apsley Business School, London. Currently, I feel thrilled to have joined UVIC – starting in 2022 January.
With my background focused in managing businesses, stakeholders and developers, and my love for programming and databases, I feel as though Global Software Development is a good middle-ground for my research area at SEGAL, given the increasing trend in outsourcing and cross-cultural blend of software teams. I also enjoy playing around big datasets, writing queries and preparing them for algorithms.
Recently, I worked with the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council in preparing geo-fences, alert trigger handlers and automated reports of ships and vessels not being in compliance with the speed and fishery regulations of Transport Canada and Department of Fishery and Oceans.
