Startup Project: A Peer-to-Peer Platform for Writers and Editors

Project Details

Project Description

Introduction

Our project is developing a peer-to-peer platform allowing a writer to find an editor who can help the writer with proofreading, reviewing, and/or editing the paper. We believe that each person is an expert in a specific area so anyone can write and deliver intellectual products to our society. We encourage people to write down their original thoughts. With the support of editors on our platform, writers can hone their writing skills, delivering meaningful ideas to audiences, even in a second language. Our mission is to connect writers with linguistic experts and scholars from a wide array of disciplines.

Business Model

As a peer-to-peer market, we provide a platform for buyers (including writers and learners) to match and transact with service providers. A buyer will pay a matching service provider for a service that he/she uses at a price set by the provider.

The platform owner oversees the market and transactions, but we are not liable for the quality of services provided on the platform. Nor do we involve in any dispute between users or between a user and a third party.

Services Available on the Platform

Providers on our platform can provide one or several of the following services:

  1. Proofreading
  2. Editing
  3. Peer reviewing
  4. Marking a language test: TOEFL, IELTS, CELPIP, CAEL, TEF.
  5. One-on-one lectures (A user can book an one-on-one lecture with a lecturer via video conferences on writing and conducting research)

Disclaimer

Our platform promotes academic integrity and the protection of intellectual property rights. We strictly request that writers and editors avoid committing plagiarism and infringing the intellectual property rights of any person in any jurisdiction. Also, we do not welcome the sale of ghost authorship of any kind on our platform. Students should double check the rules and policies of their university or home institutions before using services on this platform. We are not responsible for any violation of academic integrity or any infringement of intellectual property rights by any user on our platform.

Current Stage of the Project:

Our team is building a prototype, which is now open for non-commercial trials. Users are invited to create an account, interact with others on our platform, and give us feedback.
